GETTING EXCITED

We heard today, the Big Country will be produced the week of May 16th, with delivery to the dealer the 25th or 26th. Doesn’t take long to make one I guess. Now we are getting pretty excited. We have been also putting in the water and power line to my brother’s barn in Newfane. Since we will have no truck it will have to stay put for awhile. We do have plans for a friend to move us to a couple nearby campgrounds during the summer for a week or so. But overall it will be at Steve’s where we will be keeping the rig for now. this is where we will start the transition of getting it all set up the way we want. For now that’s it.

WE DID IT !!

Well, We did it, On April 2nd we went to Ballard’s camping out in Hamburg New York, sat down with Daryl the owner who we have been dealing with for over 2 years now, went over a few little details, and signed the paper work for the 2017 Heartland Big Country 3450ts. This time it feels right, both Melissa and I are very excited. After 3 plus years of research, more research ,learning and educating ourselves on RV types and the RV lifestyle, and a few disappointments along the way,we both feel relieved. The first BIG step is done. To say we have a lot to do and get ready for in the next 8 weeks, before delivery is an understatement. For now I will end here and will be updating as things happen.

WELCOME 2016

Well its 2016 a new year. Trying not to look back at the last year and a half.

Looks like we have everything in place to make the big move. So come the end of March looks like we will be ordering the Heartland, Big Country 3450 ts, finally. Will be seeing the Rv dealer we have been working with the last few years at the RV show  later this month and kind of go over things. Then make the order late March. Pretty excited but not doing summersalts yet.

Also looking into a new phone. We really do not have a cell phone, so after much research, it looks like an iphone 6s will be the choice, and Verizon will be the carrier. Much more coverage than most. We  Hope to have that all done by Mid March.

For now that’s it and will update more in April

GOOD RIDDANCE 2015

Good riddance to 2015, it was a terrible year. Still haunted by the passing of our big man Lee. We also knew of 6 other people that had to put there dogs down. We also had some other personal issues to deal with, and the loss of Melissa’s mother on Oct 18, she was 94. There really isn’t much else to say, but 2016 looks to be the year.

A TERRIBLE LOSS

A TRRIBLE LOSS

Well, we spent most of the winter months paying off debt and saving some money. Around the first of April, I started getting all the paperwork ready to get to the 4 banks I had in mind for the RV loan, when it happened.

“I HAD A DREAM”

More of a voice firm and clear. It said,

“I would like you to hold off on your Rving dream right now, it will come to pass. Right now I want you to be there for your little man’s last part of his life’s journey. He can then join me in eternal peace.”

I remember it so vividly still. I woke up and thought Melissa was talking to me, but she was sound asleep. When we had breakfast I told her about it, and I could not get over it. Needless to say we put things on the back burner about the Rv. At this time Lee was doing very well from his leg amputation and all, and we were coming up on 8 months being a tripod. The 10th of April he had been to the vet, had bloodwork and all seemed well? Unfortunately that was not the case and on May 4th 2015, our Mr. Lee was laid to rest. It has been a terrible blow and immense loss to the both of us. I have put a lot more of the story up on the ABOUT US page. For now we are in limbo, but feel confident we will be able to pursue the RV dream toward the end of the year. For now that’s all

A BUMPY 2014

Well its the end of the year, It’s been a little bumpy for us. BOTTOM LINE- No RV yet. Decided on our local dealer who gave us a great price, but contrary to what I thought, it was a little harder to get a home equity loan than first thought. So everything was put on hold, to pay down some debt and get my credit score higher. Well its taken all year. The dealer has been great with us and will hold the same discount if prices go up in March of 2015, which is when we intend to order the rig. Should also have some cash in hand which will help lower the loan amount.

One other thing through us for a loop this year. Lee our collie had to have him left leg amputated due to cancer. Needless to say we were and still are devastated. He also had to go three rounds of chemo. Right now he is 5 months post amputation. He is doing very well and is a real trooper and our hero. Getting around just like before. We are very hopeful it has not spread, will find that out in Jan 2015.

Otherwise we are just keeping the faith, and getting some things done here at the house, and parting with things either to the family or the junk heap. Our plan is to order the rig in March and hope we get approved. Once that is done we can really start to move forward.

For now that’s it.

The RV Show

We went to the Buffalo RV show, this is the 4th time we have been there. Kind of the same thing this year, except the local dealer we have been talking to had on display the 5th wheel we have been looking into buying. That would be the Heartland, Big Country 3450ts. I was able to go through it, in it, over it, and under it. Spent about 2 hours all together. Melissa was able this time to sit in it and move around to get the feel of it. The 2014 model is a little different then the one we had seen before. Specifically they have removed the L shape from the kitchen and just now have a peninsula . We really did like the L shape, but we can live with the change. In saying that this is the model WE like a lot. We will have to order it, as we want some extras they offer. You can see those on “The Rig” page.
Now we just have to figure out when we want to order it, and from who. That will be the biggest decision to make in the near future. for now that’s it..

The Road Starts Here

ITS 2014…And this is our very first blog post Wooo-Hoooo. Although I have had the blog created and up and running for several months, this is the first blog. Why wait so long, I have no idea, but today feels right.
So, this is the beginning of the unknown journey, although for the past 3 years or so, we have researched, researched, learned, more research, learned as mush as possible. We both still look at each other and say, do we know enough. I guess you can never know enough, but you have to also say enough is enough and its time to start. It also feels like it is the right time, unlike before, so that carma or what ever it is a good sign.
For now that’s it, we are going to the big Buffalo Rv show in a week so I will blog about that experience then, although we already know what we want.
